Desired Candidate Profile :Must have an acceptable two-years diploma and have had a minimum of five (5) years experience, post education and training, in biomedical engineering. Experience shall have been gained either in a health care establishment or with a manufacturer of patient connected health care equipment. Experience shall include but not be limited to patient monitors, defibrillators, ventilators diagnostic equipment, laboratory, dental and X-ray equipment. 

Biomedical technicians shall have the ability to fault find to component level on complex equipment, read drawings and carryout calibration of equipment. 

Knowledge of international safety standards, related to such equipment is essential (e.g. BS60601-x). Also, knowledge of associated test and diagnostic equipment and test methods, as described in recognized technical standards and other relevant standards. 

Must have received formal training in their respective fields of expertise. They must be fully conversant with regulations and recognized safety procedures.
